This past Monday night, the TNR Grand National Series presented by Schue Lawn Service began the four-race playoffs to crown the 2023 champion. The playoffs began at Texas Motor Speedway. In a night expected to be showcased by playoff drivers, it was many of the non-playoff drivers who showed dominance in the race.

Chuck Sweeting dominated the Talkin' Gaints 150, leading 82 of the 101 laps on route to his first victory in just two starts in his TNR career. Ewing started from the third position but quickly worked his way to the lead early on. Jake Bustos started the race on pole, his first of the 2023 season. Bustos, like many playoff contenders, was involved in a wreck on the restart following the lap 25 stage break. Sweeting continued his dominance, being only challenged by Jason Gracias and Shane Ewing for most of the race. Jason Gracias led 14 laps, Philip Scott led one, and Outlaw Racing teammates Jake Bustos and DJ Weeks both led two laps.
Philip Scott now leads the TNR playoff standings. Bill Edwards is in 2nd and JD Laird is in 3rd. Next Monday, the TNR Grand National Series sponsored by Schue Lawn Service will head to Darlington, one of the most treacherious ovals on the iRacing service. Who will win the '90s throwback race and which playoff driver will come out better than the other nine? Tune into WRN to find out.
