The Total Nonstop Racing League sponsored by Schue Lawn Service opened their 2023 season on WRN with an exciting race at the newly repaved Atlanta Motor Speedway. The 100-lap race saw 35 lead changes and only four cautions. Atlanta has put on very exciting races since it was repaved, and the TNR season opener was no exception. Pole sitter Jamar Dumas found trouble early and many other drivers came and went from the front of the field.

Mike Tellier picked up the first win of the season. Tellier lead seven laps in total during the TableTop Trio 150 and had been lurking around the front of the field much of the night. Tellier grabbed the lead with a couple laps to go from Jake Bustos and fought in both lanes to hold it. Tellier moved into the outside of turn four to block Bustos leaving the door open for the 48 of Matt White to get the lead. White surged ahead but Tellier found a surge of momentum coming to the line to take home the season opener. Matt White, Jake Bustos, Bill Edwards, David Durande, Philip Scott, JD Laird, Robert Tripp, Triston Maher, and Jamar Dumas all lead laps. JD Laird led a race high 30 laps. Vincent Valvano was the biggest mover of the race going from a 15th place starting position to a 5th place finish.
Next Monday night, the TNR Grand National Series sponsored by Schue Lawn Care heads to Phoenix Raceway. Leaving the pack track of Atlanta where every driver has a chance to win, Phoenix will be a key indicator to which drivers might be contenders during the early part of the season. WRN looks forward to presenting TNR action all season long.
