Adam Pettet Dominates Dover for 3rd Win of the Season

Adam Pettet came into the NSRA Beer Street Journal Grand National Series race at Dover, The Leather Company 150, looking to rebound from an 11th place finish at Talladega, only his 2nd finish outside the top 10 (the other coming at Daytona in the season opener). He certainly did as the driver of the Car Candy number 17 car dominated the 150 lap event, starting on the pole and leading 144 of those 150 laps. He continues to hold the regular season points lead and extended it after this week's race.

"Dover is my favorite track" said Pettet in his post race interview with WRN's Tyler Belanger, "I spend quite a bit of time here just testing, practicing... that definitely helps to have thousands and thousands of laps at this place". All that practicing certainly was an advantage as Pettet drove away to a 9 second lead over 2nd place Nate Mowrer by the time the race had finished. Winner from Talladega Trey Whitehead had a strong race as well, driving from a 15th starting position to finish 3rd.

Matt Donnelly, Mike Tellier, and Brock Whitehead all scored laps lead in the race, all of those coming during pit cycles. The race saw only one caution early on that involved Justin White and and Sam Kohlhaas come together entering turn 3 on lap number 3.
