In just his third NSRA Beer Street Journal Grand National Series start, Robert Richards put his number 12 car in victory lane. Outdueling Philip Scott in the final run of the race, Richards scored his first win and second top five of the season. Philip Scott battled hard in the laps after the final green flag pit stop, going back and forth with Richard. Philip, however, was unable to find a way around the 12 machine, who extended the lead from a quarter second to almost one second in the closing ten laps.

Robert Richards (12) passes Philip Scott to take the race lead
Robert Richards led 16 laps on his way to victory in the Beer Street Journal 150 at Bluegrass Country. Philip Scott led the most laps in the race (31), joined by Adam Pettet (6), Trey Whitehead (21), Nate Mowrer (21), Bryce Hunter (3), and Sam Kohlhaas (2) all scoring laps led. Trey Whitehead won his second pole in a row but slipped back to a fourth-place finish. Adam Pettet was able to pass Whitehead in the closing laps of the race for third.
The race went caution free but was not spared from any on-track incidents. In the opening laps of the race, Adam Pettet and Adam Newton made contact exiting turn 4. Pettet kept his car going straight but with right front damage that hurt the performance of the AnythingEC number 83 for the rest of the night. Newton was not so fortunate, collecting Nate Mowrer in a spin into the infield. Even though the caution did not come out, Newton and Mowrer both sustained damage. Nate Mowrer, who came into the race second place in playoff points finished eight. Adam Newton would end up finishing in thirteenth place.
